2009 Imagine Cup Winners - Live Services Award
Second place: Serbia, BrainWave

CIT Students' team Brainwave led by Vladimir Milivojevic represented SERBIA at the WORLD IMAGINE CUP 2009 Competition with their project "People to People Economy" in Software Design Category at 2009 Worldwide Finals that was held in Cairo, Egypt from July 3-7, 2009. They won Live Services Award - the Second place.

More than 300,000 students from over 142 countries entered the 2009 competition. The theme of 2010 Imagine Cup is "Imagine a world where technology helps solve the world's toughest problems." The Imagine Cup was founded in 2003. Worldwide Finals host countries have spanned the globe from Spain, to Brazil, to Japan, to India, to South Korea, to France and last year, in Egypt. The 2010 Worldwide Finals will take place in Poland.

  • Brainwave team was founded in 2008. We work in offices of Center for Information Technologies, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Center for Career Development,Kragujevac. We gathered to take part in the Imagine Cup 2009 competition, but also to try to make our contribution to Millennium Development Goals. The members of the team are students from third and fifth year of studies at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Philology and Arts

    Local Final of Imagine Cup 2009 was held at Palace of Serbia, Belgrade on May, 21st 2009. Four IT students' teams from University of Kragujevac, University of Belgrade and University of Novi Sad competed in Software Design Category.

    Brainwave team comprised of students from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac won THE FIRST PRIZE and they represented Serbia at 2009 Worldwide Finals in Egypt.

    For nine categories of this years Imagine Cup Competition 663 participants from Serbia had applied. Ceremony of Local Final in Belgrade was opened by Snezana Samardzic Markovic, Minister of Youth and Sports in Government of Serbia, together with Vladan Zivkovic, CEO Microsoft Serbia, Zoran Subic, Managing Director of Academic Programs, Microsoft Serbia and Vladimir Lucic, Managing Director of Commercial Jobs, Telekom Serbia.

    Project Overview:
    Project People 2 People Economy provides students as well as employees with equal opportunities for gaining desirable education. The system is based on the exchange of various services between users and institutions (both universities and companies) in which both sides have multiple interests reflecting in the cooperation without money. Students from countries all around the world are able to enter the desirable universities, regardless of their financial situation or the place they are from.People 2 People Economy can be used by companies which search for additional development of their own employees as well as companies that offer such kind of education.
